Hello everybody!!!!!
I have the most exciting and helpful news to share :D.
To those who have noticed the nice new facelift on the blog (and soon the website also), it is all thanks to the fantastic talent and skills of Jessica and Garett Mayfield, creator and owner of Wednesday. The best part is they don’t just do design for lowly photographers such as myself, they actually specialize doing custom paperwork and event design :D.
These two come up with the most magnificent ideas, and they are completely personalized to your preferred product. More importantly though, they have great hearts and are downright awesome to work with. I’ve come up with a couple questions for them to answer so you can see what they offer. And soon we will be hosting an AMAZING contest :D :D!!
Look underneath the interview and you will see photos of the clever packaging they worked up for me!! It’s not all of it though, to see the rest of their abilities you’ll just have to book a session with me :)

How did Wednesday come to be?
This all came to be from a background in graphic design and a passion for coordinating and crafting. Our most cherished and profound moments have been shared in sentiment and celebration with those we love the most, so we find it such a privilege to contribute to these moments for our clients.
What does your company offer?
Wednesday focuses on custom paperworks and event design. From the save the dates, announcements, invites, programs, place cards, menus and thank you’s we want to create a cohesive design for your event. We also offer day of event styling and coordinating. There is nothing we aren’t bold enough to try- if you have a unique request we will be happy to create a mock-up for you prior to your commitment to work with us.
Who is involved in your company?
We are a husband and wife duo, Garett and Jessica Mayfield.
What is your idea of the perfect client? (may be a little hard to answer that…)
We always aspire to make the little details count. This is what sets every couple apart and makes the design unique. That being said we love to work with people who like to push the envelope –yes, that was a pun- and want to incorporate their interest, passions and quirks into the product.
Do you have samples of some of your favorite work?
Yes, shown below.
If I wanted to have you do my save the dates or invitations, what would that process look like?
We would have a consultation to discuss your vision and our services. After the consultation, if you decide you are interested in working with us, the process of designing and producing your custom product begins. We design a few mock-ups for your client to review and accommodate any redesign requests until the customer is completely satisfied.
Then we take it to print and deliver the final product. For more detailed requests we will begin working on your mood boards, vendor relations, event décor, etc.
Where do you turn for your inspiration?
Garett: Everywhere. Inspiration is in everything, you just have to take the time to notice it. Primarily, we turn to our clients for inspiration. And of course each other.
Jessica: I’m inspired by unlikely beauty, flea markets, nature, anthropologie, traveling, blogs (more specifically wedding blogs and the EE Photography blog) and quirky people. Garett comes at everything with such an interesting perspective, so he challenges me to take a look at things from a different angle also.
What is your favorite food? store?
Garett: Anything sweet. It’s my kryptonite. Store? Anthropologie, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and William Sonoma.
Jessica: YES! how lucky am I to be married to someone who lists anthro as his favorite store? I’m a foodie, and a like so many things it would be unfair to pick any one thing over another. But anything with too much icing is a quick way to win me over. Stores: I’ve mentioned anthropologie, yes?
Favorite part of a wedding?
Garett: The people. Everyone is happy at a wedding.
Jessica: I love that no amount of planning could make it any more perfect then it already is- you are marrying the greatest friend you’ll ever have on earth with all those you love sharing in your celebration. It’s just all so relational and intimate and perfect already. But the details are fun too!
Favorite date you’ve ever had?
Garett: I had a really good frozen date one time. It had a pit in it, but it was still delicious.
Jessica: Breakfast for dinner at home and laying on the couch for a good movie. Simplicity.
Below: The new look :D. Aren’t they so clever?!
Further below: A quick sample of their sweet work :D Save the dates, birth announcements, wedding invitations– anything you could possibly want, they can make it :)
